Wild times continue throughout August

The summer holiday fun with Northumberland Wildlife Trust is set to continue throughout August as the wildlife charity gears itself up to hosting 10 more afternoon events at Jesmond Dene and Heaton Park in Newcastle and Weetslade Country Park, North of Gosforth Park, Newcastle.

 

There will be something to suit everybody at the afternoon activities

The itinerary of events in August is as follows:

Tuesday 3 August, 1.00pm - 3.00pm - Heaton Park
Raft Race: build and race your own craft. Booking essential. Call 0191 284 6884.

Tuesday 3 August, 1.00pm - 2.00pm - Weetslade Country Park
2.00pm - 3.00pm. Booking essential. Call 0191 284 6884.
Campfire Cooking: come along for orange cake, bread and hot dogs around the campfire

Thursday 5 August, 1.00pm - 3.00pm - Heaton Park
Smelly Socks: put all your senses to the test, makes a woodland mask and some potent perfume

Tuesday 10 August, 1.00pm - 3.00pm - Heaton Park
Minibeast Safari: a chance to find out more about the creepy crawlies that live beneath your feet

Thursday 12 August, 1.00pm - 3.00pm - Heaton Park
Arts & Crafts: release your ‘natural’ side and the creativity within you

Tuesday 17 August, 1.00pm - 3.00pm - Jesmond Dene
Water Safari: explore the murky depths of the pond and discover what lives beneath

Thursday 19 August, 1.00pm - 3.00pm - Heaton Park
Dream catchers: make a Native American dream catcher

Tuesday 24 August, 1.00pm - 3.00pm - Heaton Park
Earth Art: create your own natural sculpture

Thursday 26 August, 1.00pm - 3.00pm - Heaton Park
Minibeast Safari: another chance to find out more about the creepy crawlies that live beneath your feet

Tuesday 21 August, 1.00pm - 3.00pm - Heaton Park
Nature Trail: become a wildlife explorer as you trek through Heaton Park


Unless otherwise stated there is no need to book - just turn up. All Heaton Park events - meet at the Pavilion. If you require further details, contact Laura Lowther at Northumberland Wildlife Trust on: 0191 284 6884. All children must be accompanied by an adult. There is a suggested charitable donation of £2 per child.
