Members of the public who haven’t yet had the opportunity to see the latest Batman film can head to Havannah Nature Reserve on Wednesday 5 September to see if the dark knights make an appearance there.
Northumberland Wildlife Trust is hosting an early evening bat-spotting event at the reserve on the outskirts of Newcastle between 7.00pm and 9.00pm.
Over the course of the two hours, participants will have the opportunity to try out a sonic bat detector which will hopefully locate some of the little winged residents as they walk around the reserve
Naomi Waite, Northumberland Wildlife Trust Conservation Officer, who is running the event, said: “This event can be enjoyed by people of all ages and is a great opportunity to learn more about these little nocturnal mammals who are at their busiest when we are all asleep.”
She continued: “As protected species, it is really important that as many people as possible know how to help keep bats safe and secure.”
The event is free but places are limited and do need to be booked, so call Laura Lowther at Northumberland Wildlife Trust on 0191 284 6884.
