As the Olympic year draws to a close, the Trust is delighted to welcome three new bronze category corporate members.

The first new member, Newcastle-based holiday company Sand and Castle, manages a portfolio of luxury holiday cottages in Northumberland - from coastal cottages and hideaways to luxurious country retreats, all in the heart of Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s conservation area.

The Sand and Castle team will be working with us to ensure all its cottages are as wildlife friendly as possible, which will begin with the inclusion of a complimentary wildlife pack full of information on local wildlife and nearby nature reserves to each of the cottages, for all the family to learn about wildlife and get the most out of a holiday in Northumberland.

Bell Ingram, one of the UK’s largest firms of independent land agents with 130 professional members of staff in 11 offices across the country, joined the Trust as a corporate member in September.

Specialising in rural management for private clients and also one of the UK’s leading providers of land management services to the energy sector, Bell Ingram has been working for major utility providers since the 1970s and more recently with large scale renewable energy providers.

Bell Ingram strongly believes it has a duty to enhance the positive and minimise the negative environmental, social and economic aspects of its activities. The Company has developed its Corporate Social Responsibility Policy detailing how it expects its staff, members, suppliers, business partners, contractors and customers to be treated and to behave towards each other, the community and environment.

Colton Excavations Ltd also joined the Trust in September. Operating throughout the UK from its two depots in Birtley and Tanfield, the excavation company is part of The Colton Group, a family-run business with over 45 years’ experience in earth moving and civil engineering.

Colton Excavations Ltd was established in 1999 and specialises in civil engineering, land reclamation, land remediation & restoration, major highway projects, landfill engineering, design & construction of timber crib walls and environmental projects including Coastal Erosion Protection.
