Wild times had by all thanks to People’s Postcode Lottery

School children in Northumberland, Newcastle and North Tyneside had a fantastic summer all courtesy of the People’s Postcode Lottery.

For, most of this years’ summer holiday events were supported by the charity lottery.

Events ranging from camp fire cooking, mini raft racing and water safaris to earth art, making dream catchers, nature trekking, rock pooling and camp fire cooking were all made possible thanks to its players.

It is the third year that the People’s Postcode Lottery has supported the programme of summer holiday events which have now become a regular feature in the wildlife charity’s events calendar for the year.

Jason Gaskell, Head of People and Wildlife at Northumberland Trust said: “My team has been able to run some fantastic events again this year thanks to the players of the People’s Postcode Lottery.”

He continued: “Children have had the opportunity to get wet and dirty in the name of nature and not get told off by their parents and, as for the camp fire cooking events, there were more than a few dads sitting around the fire re-living their childhoods when they pretended to be cowboys.”
