Tie dye at Great Park Orchard
Event details
About the event
Bring your old clothes, rags, sheets, and more for a colourful revamp using ancient tie-dye techniques. Feel free to bring your lunch to eat outside in the sun or under the shade of a tree. Everybody is welcome!
Tie-dying traces back thousands of years to ancient Asian and African cultures, where artisans used natural dyes and intricate techniques to create meaningful patterns. Fast forward to the 1960s, and tie-dye became a symbol of counter-culture, self-expression, and peace. Now, it's a perfect way to bring some life back into your old clothes.
There are no age restrictions but children must be supervised. Note this workshop requires you to bring your own garments and it works best on light colored cotton materials. If you don't have anything you wish to tie-dye have a look in some charity shops and see what you can find in there.
