About the event

Swift populations are in drastic decline, in part due to house roof renovations closing up gaps in soffits that they like to nest in. In 2021, they were added to the red list in the UK Conservation Status Report. Red is the highest conservation priority, and swifts need our help!

Help us to survey for swifts and collect data on their nest sites. Together we can help protect nests and find new sites for nest boxes to encourage more swifts.

Refreshments will be provided. The event will begin indoors for an informal talk and we will then head outside around dusk to look for screaming parties and nesting sites.

Please bring warm clothing. Age 12+.
