Get ready for a big wild weekend

Get ready for a big wild weekend

Northumberland Wildlife Trust is asking everybody to get their tents or dens at the ready and take part in a Big Wild Camp-out this Saturday (18th June).
Big Wild Weekend 2022

Whether it’s camping out in the living room, back yard or garden, the wildlife charity is urging everybody to get tent pitching and den making as part of the Wildlife Trust’s 30DaysWild national nature challenge which encourages people to do something wild every day throughout June.

Better still, participants camping out won’t have time to be bored as throughout the night, the wildlife organisation will be sharing activities on its Facebook group and offering exciting giveaways! To find out more visit www.wildlifetrusts.org/big-wild-weekend.

With batteries charged after their wild night outdoors, the following evening (Sunday 19th), nature lovers of all ages will be able to put their general knowledge to the test in the Big Wild Quiz.

Hosted at 6pm on YouTube by national Wildlife Trust ambassadors Sophie Pavelle and David Oakes, with a few special guests popping in, it’s a great way to round off the weekend.

As part of Big Wild Weekend celebrations in this region, on Saturday 19th, Northumberland Wildlife Trust is hosting a Big Wild Day at Northumberlandia in Cramlington.

With the emphasis very much on having fun, feeling good and getting closer to nature, between 10:00am and 4:00pm, members of the public will be able to immerse themselves in mindfulness in nature and music in nature sessions, medicinal herbs walks and outdoor yoga. Alternatively, they may just wish to wander around the site, take a walk up to the top of the Lady of the North landform sculpture or see what the Visitor Centre café has on the menu that day.
