Trails galore at Northumberlandia this summer

Now that summer is definitely with us and life is starting to return to some semblance of normality, Northumberland Wildlife Trust is hosting a number of socially distanced family events at Northumberlandia, as part of its campaign to keep everybody enjoying their local green spaces and looking after their health and well-being.

It’s a case of trails, trails and more trails this summer and all of it is under the watchful eye of the Lady of the North who is a bit of a trailblazer in her own right. The events are as follows:

Landscape Trail

Saturday 26 - Friday 31 July, 10:00am - 3:00pm

Saturday 15 - Friday 21 August, 10:00am - 3:00pm

Nature lovers can navigate their way around through Northumberlandia using clues around the site and learning more about the landscape and the Lady of the North herself via a downloadable guide.

Pond and Meadow Trail

Saturday 1 - Friday 7 August, 10:00am - 3:00pm

Saturday 22 - Sunday 30 August, 10:00am - 3:00pm

Northumberlandia hosts a whole wealth of wildlife and during the pond and meadow trail, nature lovers of all ages can navigate their way through the site, using the downloadable guide, leaning more about the value of these habitats and the wildlife which benefits from them.

Woodland Trail

Saturday 8 - Friday 14 August, 10:00am - 3:00pm

Woodlands are full of surprises if you look and listen carefully enough. Are you wild enough to find out more again using the downloadable guide?

All guides (priced at £3) can be downloaded at: www.nwt.org.uk/events with all money raised going towards the upkeep of the site, maintaining paths, planting trees and feeding the birds over the winter.

The wildlife charity has employed an additional cleaner to help keep all public areas and toilets clean and ensure the safety of everybody visiting the site.
