Gosforth Camera Club which has been running for 73 years, meets weekly at the Duke of Wellington pub on Kenton Lane in Newcastle between September and May.

At the Club’s AGM, its 75 members select a charity personal to themselves for the following financial year.

In previous years, a number of health charities have been selected and as a number of club members are keen wildlife watchers and have taken photos on a number of Northumberland Wildlife Trust reserves it was selected as the Club’s 2022 - 2023 charity.

Catherine Kirkham, Northumberland Wildlife Trust Fundraising Manager says:

“This is a wonderful donation and a great start to our financial year. All our reserves are free to enter and are maintained by an army of volunteers, so it’s really rewarding to see a group which uses our reserves, thanking us in this way.”

Maggi Shepherd, Gosforth Camera Club Secretary says:

"Gosforth Camera Club is delighted to make a contribution to the work of the Trust. Our members really value the opportunities it provides to capture images of the flora and fauna on its reserves."
