Wildlife charity offering some paws-itivity this Halloween

Northumberland Wildlife Trust is calling on dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes to bring their owners along to their very own Doggy Spooktacular Halloween event at Weetslade Country Park this Saturday 29 October.

Between 10:00am and noon, the wildlife charity is looking forward to welcoming members of the public onto the site to tell them about its work and to join them on a short guided doggy walk.

The event is free and has been made possible thanks to support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery.

There’ll be treats galore for all the furry VIPs and the chance for them to strut their four legs around the former colliery site situated on the edge of Newcastle, in their Halloween finery.

Speaking about the event, Frances Smiles, Northumberland Wildlife Trust Events Officer says: “Weetslade Country Park is a great site and attracts thousands of dog walkers each year, so, when planning our autumn events we decided to combine Halloween with dog walking and host the Doggy Spooktacular.

“It’s a great way to forget all the turmoil in the country at the moment. There are treats for all the wonderful dogs, a pat on the head for their owners, and maybe even a doggy parade which will be sure to bring a round of a-paws.”
