The Environmental Records Information Centre (ERIC) North East works with wildlife recording groups, organisations and individuals to collate, manage and improve access to the biological records of the region.
It is a resource that is used to inform decisions about, and build a picture of the natural environment of the North East, and improves knowledge about the species and habitats that can be found there.
You can play your part by completing the recording form or logging onto the EYE Project website (www.eyeproject.org.uk) and recording the animals and plants you have spotted. Why not choose a place and see if anyone has logged a species there? Search for your favourite animals, birds, insects or plants and find out where they have been spotted.
Find out more about ERIC North East by visiting the website (www.ericnortheast.org.uk) or contacting them at eric.ne@twmuseums.org.uk or 0191 222 5158.
