Corporate partnership news

Nestlé

Corporate members Nestlé have been working with NWT for a number of years including sponsorship of the North East Wildlife Photography Competition and working with our People and Wildlife teams an exciting project to engage staff and their families and encourage native wildlife to return to the Fawdon factory site.  Volunteers working on our new Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre were also ‘fuelled’ by monthly supplies of free biscuits from Nestlé Read the full story here.

Northumbrian Water

Northumbrian Water have demonstrated their commitment to local wildlife by donating two vehicles to the Trust, delivering training to NWT staff and sponsoring a conservation post a Kielder. As part of Northumbrian Water's Just An Hour volunteering programme, six employees recently spent five hours working alongside people from the Environment Agency and Northumberland Wildlife Trust clearing stretches of the banks of the burn and litter picking. People’s Postcode Lottery

We are delighted to continue to receive fantastic support through our high profile partnership with People’s Postcode Lottery. To date players of People's Postcode Lottery have raised £919,940 and provided a unique platform for boosting awareness as well as contributing vital funds for our work. 

Tarmac Ltd

Tarmac Ltd are long-term supporters of the Trust and have previously sponsored a number of special events including helping to celebrate the Trust’s 40th Anniversary as well as working in partnership to develop a schools biodiversity award programme.

Mears

Social housing and maintenance company Mears stepped in to help the Trust following an arson attack which destroyed our visitor centre and observation hide at Hauxley. Mears cleared the site of the burned out building and converted and fitted out the disused toilet block into a temporary visitor centre saving the Trust around £8,000. 

Gustharts

Many thanks to Gustharts, bronze category members for the past 12 years, for its donation of a set of STIHL HSA 25 cordless shrub shears, designed for trimming shrubs, but which were put to good use on the Hauxley Build Project giving straw bales a haircut before the walls were plastered.

National Partnerships

Ribena

The Wildlife Trusts have been working with Ribena and their blackcurrant growers since 2004 to help wildlife by providing habitat in and around the blackcurrant fields used to grow fruit for Ribena. This includes planting trees and hedges, leaving field margins and providing nest boxes.

Britvic 

Leading soft drinks manufacturer, Britvic, has announced it has two new long- term community partners: Sported and The Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts.

Vine House Farm

Vine House Farm are one of the UK’s leading bird food manufacturers. They grow the vast majority of their bird food on their conservation award-winning farm in south Lincolnshire and donate 5% of the value of any order to the customer's local Wildlife Trust.
