Personal stories

Many people understand that leaving a gift to Northumberland Wildlife Trust is a meaningful way of making a lasting commitment to the wildlife and places that they love. Please read the personal stories written by our supporters, about how our work has inspired them to support us with a legacy.

"Northumberland will always be my love, always where my heart really stays."
Judith Line,
NWT member since 1981

From feeling the brush of wildflowers as you stroll through a meadow, to watching otters play on a riverbank, to hearing owls calling in the night, everybody encounters wildlife 'moments' in their lifetime.

Since our formation in 1971, we have received in excess of £2 million in legacies, which makes a huge difference to our work. A gift in your Will can mean the difference between saving a haven for wildlife and losing it forever.

"The positive impact of the Trust on Northumberland's wildlife is truly amazing, but there is always work to do to protect our beautiful county - please think about leaving something to help."
Doug Johnson, NWT member since 1986

A gift in your Will is one of the most valuable and meaningful ways you can protect local wildlife into the future. Whether you choose to preserve ancient woodland, heather moorland or the wonderful marine life in our seas, every gift can make a real, lasting impact.

"I have been interested in wildlife for as long as I can remember. It was on moving to Hexham over 20 years ago, however, that I was able to observe and appreciate wildlife at first hand and I became passionate about the Northumberland countryside; it is such a beautiful county. I feel it is important therefore to preserve and protect it for future generations. It would give me great pleasure to be able to assist the Trust in continuing its work by leaving a legacy."
