At Northumberland Wildlife Trust, we recognise that enabling access to nature, awareness raising, education and working with local communities is essential to our overall aim of creating a Living Landscape. People are at the heart of everything we do.
We believe that everyone should have the chance to enjoy and learn more about the natural world. This enjoyment and learning can take many forms – for some it is practical conservation work or attending training courses to learn more about wildlife, for others it is a walk on a spectacular nature reserve on a crisp morning, or perhaps it is that first encounter with nature that a child has dipping their net into a rock pool.
Northumberland Wildlife Trust offers all these experiences and more. We actively seek to empower people and invoke positive action through encouraging everybody to engage in their surrounding environment. We provide the opportunity for people to learn and understand about their local wildlife and wild places - this comes in the form of working alongside schools and local communities, running a range of volunteering tasks and conducting thousands of walks, talks and activities for all ages and backgrounds.
