Northumberland Wildlife Trust is urging everybody to forget about the General Election and focus on parks and allotments for the next 24 hours.

For, Newcastle City Council wants to hear everybody’s views on its proposals for how parks and allotments are to be run in the future.

Click here to read the full proposal, view the full list of allotments and map of all the parks and then take a few minutes to complete a short online survey and express views.

Northumberland Wildlife Trust is a huge supporter of all parks, allotments and green spaces and is encouraging everybody to have their say. With over 60 reserves in Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside, the wildlife charity strongly believes safe green spaces help communities live healthy lives but that a decade of under investment is reducing the quality of Newcastle’s green spaces for nature and people.

A full copy of the Trust’s response is available on its website here www.nwt.org.uk/planningcomments.

The survey closes on Friday 21 April.
