Nature lovers of all ages are invited a special free event next month and meet The ‘Urban Birder’ aka writer, broadcaster and speaker David Lindo.

For David is returning to Newcastle’s Great North Museum: Hancock on Thursday 6 July as the guest speaker at the awards ceremony for the 2017 North East Wildlife Photography Competition. David is no stranger to the photograph competition, previously attending in 2013.

Now in its fifth year, the Competition, which is hosted by Northumberland, Durham and Tees Valley Wildlife Trusts, the Natural History Society of Northumbria, Alan Hewitt Photography and the Great North Museum: Hancock attracted the largest number of entries ever (1636) and which left the panel of judges amazed.

Nestlé UK is the main sponsor with The London Camera Exchange sponsoring the People’s Choice category.

So, whether you are a wildlife lover, photography enthusiast or just keen to hear from a man who believe that anyone can become an ‘Urban Birder’ - on their way to work, during their lunch break or just looking out of a window, save the date in your diary: Thursday 6 July, Great North Museum: Hancock.

Doors open at 5.00pm, entry is free, and David’s presentation begins at 6.30pm.
