Northumberlandia Wilder Wellbeing stroll. Jo Burke.
Wilder Wellbeing is a Northumberland Recovery College and Northumberland Wildlife Trust partnership and co-ordinated by Everyturn Mental Health. It has been made possible thanks to The Legal & General Health Equity Fund.
Starting next week on Wednesday 18th March until October, the free sessions will run at Northumberlandia every third Wednesday between 11:00am and 2:00pm.
The sessions aim to help improve wellbeing and personal resilience through learning green skills together, empowering and connecting people with nature.
Throughout the spring and summer, participants will learn green skills and simple reserve maintenance such as building or maintaining dead hedges, weeding, and pruning, basic planting, wildlife gardening, and building bird and hedgehog boxes.
Arts and crafts are also part of the project with activities including printing with botanicals, clay and pottery work and willow weaving. Better still, the sessions are all free.
Jo Burke, Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s Nature and Wellbeing Officer says:
“We ran these sessions last year and they were so popular we are running them again thanks to generous funding from The Legal & General Health Equity Fund.
“The natural world is so important for both our mental and physical health so, needless to say, I am really looking forward to seeing everybody’s love for nature blossom and grow.”
