Hocus pocus at Northumberlandia this October

Hocus pocus at Northumberlandia this October

Northumberland Wildlife Trust is encouraging anybody searching for Halloween hocus-pocus to point their broomsticks towards Northumberlandia in Cramlington this October.

Over the course of the week, from Saturday 23rd - Sunday 31st October, between 11:30am - 3:30pm, the wildlife charity will be running self-led spot the pumpkin and bat trails through the woodland of the site in Cramlington - and all under the ‘witchful’ eye of the Lady of the North herself. Trails maps can be downloaded at www.nwt.org.uk/events.

On Saturday 30th October, everybody is encouraged to pull on their witches hats or dress in their spookiest outfits and head to the site for its ‘Spirit of Nature’ storytelling event

Back by popular demand, two, one hour drop in hour story time sessions which start at 11:00am and 1:00pm, include a self-led bat trail through the woodland followed by a storytelling with Northumberland storyteller Jim Grant who will enthral the audience with magical stories about nature and the woodland sprits that live on the site.

The storytelling event ends with a bat free hot chocolate from the Northumberlandia visitor centre our café. Places need to be booked at www.nwt.org.uk/events,

Speaking about the forthcoming events, Frances Smile Northumberland Wildlife Trust Events Officer says: “Halloween didn’t really happen for children last year, so, I’m delighted we are able to run some activities this year - both self-led and in a group with storyteller Jim. So, why not come along and see what’s on offer - both around the site and on the menu in our visitor centre café?”

The events are suitable for children and young people aged between 5 - 9 years of age who must be accompanied by an adult.
