On a mission to entertain

Pubs, cinemas and restaurants may be closed but one thing that isn’t closed is the great outdoors and this half-term Northumberland Wildlife Trust is on a mission to keep the region’s school kids entertained.

From Saturday 24th October - Sunday 1st November, between 10am - 3pm, the wildlife charity is hosting Autumn Quiz Trails on its Hauxley nature reserve on Druridge Bay and at Northumberlandia in Cramlington.

For just £2 per family, the self-led trail offers hours of outdoor escape from the bad news surrounding everybody. All that is needed is a mobile phone to download the PDF of the trail. It is ideally suited for children aged 4 - 8 years of age.

For those brave enough, two spooky themed quiz trails, for age groups 3 - 7 and 8 - 11, will be running at Northumberlandia from Wednesday 29th October - Sunday 1st November, between 10am - 3pm.

Again, for just £2 per family, the spooky quiz trails offer an alternative to Trick or Treating. All that is needed is a mobile phone to download the PDF of the trail.

So pull on the Halloween costume, grab your pumpkin lantern and head around the reserve whilst keeping an eye out for clue cards in the woodland and on the Lady of the North herself.

All the Trust asks is that people bring their own hand sanitizer to use before commencing the trail, maintain 2m social distancing and wait at a distance if someone else is reading a clue card.
