The Northumberland Astronomical Society (NASTRO) is hosting its final stargazing event at Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s Hauxley nature reserve this Saturday (29th November).
Hosted by Dr Adrian Jannetta FRAS, the event which runs between 5:30pm and 8:00pm, includes a talk in the classroom of the Wildlife Discovery Centre followed by the opportunity to explore the Northumberland skies with members of the NASTRO team using high powered telescopes.
The event is a fantastic opportunity to visit the Hauxley nature reserve after dark as it is usually closed to members of the public.
Apart from the chance to see the resident bats flying around (weather permitting) it’s a fabulous place to stargaze as the area is totally unaffected by any light pollution with, in the past, excited participants spotting Jupiter, the Milky Way and shooting stars.
