Northumberland Wildlife Trust is inviting dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes to bring their owners along to their very own Doggy Spooktacular Halloween event at Weetslade Country Park this month.

Between 10:00am and noon on Saturday 28th October, the Trust will be welcoming members of the public onto the site to tell them about its work and to join them on a short guided doggy walk.

The event is free courtesy of the Land Trust and there’ll be treats galore for all the furry VIPs not to mention the chance for them to strut their four legs around the site in all their Halloween finery.

Elsewhere during half term, at Northumberlandia, there are plenty of opportunities for children and adults to don their best Halloween outfits and join in a number of events.

At the Blagdon Lane site there are self-led pumpkin and wicked wildlife trails running from Saturday 28th October through to Tuesday 31st October, between 10:00am and 3:00pm.

The two downloadable trails will help young explorers either find hidden pumpkins in the woodland or learn more about the wildlife that calls the site home.

A free chocolate treat courtesy of the wildlife charity is available for all the spooky adventurers at the end.

For those people wanting to escape all the Halloween hocus pocus but still wanting to enjoy the great outdoors, they should head to Weetslade Country Park on Wednesday 25th October, between 10:30am and 12 noon for a free guided walk around the site to find out more about how it came into being, as well as the role Northumberland Wildlife Trust plays in its the upkeep.

Anybody unable to make that date, can download a self-led trail map from Saturday 28 October - Sunday 5 November 2023 and learn all about Weetslade at this wonderful time of year.
