For the wildlife charity has been entered into the Waitrose Community Matters scheme at its intu Eldon Square branch for the whole of February.

Each month every Waitrose & Partners branch donates £1,000 (£500 in convenience shops) between three local good causes with the £1,000 divided between them according to how many tokens are in each box.

Each customer is given a token at the end of their in store purchase to support the charity of their choice via the ‘Community Matters’ box. The more tokens placed in the box of a preferred cause, the greater the donation the charity receives.

So, if anybody is shopping in the Newcastle branch this month, why not drop your token into the Northumberland Wildlife Trust box and help support its future conservation work.

This year Waitrose & Partners are celebrating an amazing ten years of Community Matters, the longest running community scheme of its kind, during which time they have donated over £30 million to over 100,000 local community causes.
