Introduction

Our adult learning workshops cover a wide range of related subjects including species identification, practical skills, crafts, photography and more. Every course is led by an experienced professional who is an expert in their field.

The workshops are based at Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre which has indoor learning facilities, a lovely café and some of the richest and varied wildlife in the county.

General Information

For workshops involving time outdoors, please bring suitable outdoor clothing and footwear. Sunscreen is required in warm weather and wind/water-proof clothing is required in colder weather.

Whilst light refreshments are provided during classroom sessions, lunch is not included in any of our adult programmes. Please ensure you bring your own lunch with you. Alternatively you may purchase a range of lunch items, hot and cold drinks from our own café.

Please notify staff in advance if you have any medical requirement or disability which may affect your participation in the workshop by calling 01665 568 324.

Terms and conditions

Bookings are not confirmed until full payment has been received.

If it is necessary for you to cancel your booking for whatever reason, please inform us as soon as possible by calling 0191 284 6884. Refunds will be offered (less a £5 administration fee) for cancellations made up to 14 days before the workshop start date. Within 14 days of the workshop start date no refund will be payable upon cancellation. If you are able to provide a replacement to attend the workshop, then only the administration charge will be made.

Whilst Northumberland Wildlife Trust endeavours to run all workshops as advertised, we reserve the right to cancel or change a workshop at any time. Attendees will be notified of any change or cancellation as soon as possible. Workshops will only run if a minimum number of bookings have been taken within 5 days of the workshop start date. Attendees will be notified in advance if Northumberland Wildlife Trust cancels or changes a workshop and the cost will be fully refunded or transferred upon cancellation. You have the right to request a full refund if you are unhappy with any workshop changes.

No reductions can be made in respect to late arrival, early departure or absence for all or part of the workshop. Please ensure you are available for all dates if booking a two part workshop.

All workshop content is suitable for ages 18+. We may consider younger applicants provided they have a keen enough interest to stay the duration of the workshop, they are accompanied by a paying adult throughout and the workshop leader agrees the workshop would be suitable. The booking fee still applies for all under 18s and they must be accompanied by a paying adult.
