Northumberland Wildlife Trust has received £531.00, raised during the 2021 holiday season, from Wooler based Riverside Leisure Park and Heather View Leisure Park in County Durham.

The two parks are part of the Verdant Leisure group who are no strangers to supporting wildlife in the area.

As well as Verdant Leisure being corporate members of the wildlife charity for over 10 years, each season staff at the two Parks (Riverside and Heather View) ask their holiday hire customers to make a voluntary donation of £1.00 each time they make a booking. The £531.00 is the largest annual donation from the company to date.

Mike Pratt, Northumberland Wildlife Trust Chief Executive says: “We really do appreciate the support the Trust receives, year in year out, from Verdant Leisure. The staff and customers really are such valued friends of the Trust and supporters of all our work around the region.

“I am especially delighted with this donation as it is the highest received to date and proof that life is returning to normal after two years of holiday disappointments and cancellations caused by covid and lockdown restrictions.

“Rest assured, this money will be put to good use ensuring our reserves remain in pristine condition to be enjoyed by visitors to Verdant Leisure’s award winning parks around the region.”
