About the event

Take a leisurely stroll with us through the woods in the evening to try and find signs of the shy and beautiful native red squirrel. We'll join Bedlington and District Red Squirrel Group, learn more about red squirrels and how the group are helping to protect them locally. We'll stay out late enough to get the bat detectors out to see what other wildlife uses the woods in the evening.

The walk will cover roughly between 1-3 miles depending on how often we stop to look at things. We'll be sticking to the paths in Choppington but these do take us through the woodland. There will be uneven ground so please wear sturdy footwear, as well as outdoor clothing suitable for the weather. There’s no equipment required just bring yourselves!

Parking is very limited so please arrive on foot or use public transport where you can. If parking on local streets, please do so respectfully. Whilst the wider nature reserve is dog friendly, please do leave dogs at home for this session.
