Cheery ducks
I shall be writing more blogs for the Trust, but for starters, every year three eider ducks, two male and one female, return to Cullercoats Bay, where I’m lucky enough to take my permitted lockdown walk.
This year in particular they have brought a much-needed boost, especially when we occasionally hear a snippet of the male’s call, which always makes me laugh out loud.
It sounds to me like Kenneth Williams in full flow, or as one small child remarked, like an old lady who’s just seen a bit of cake! Ooooooooooh! Ooooooooooooowwwwww!
