About the event

Back by popular demand - our clothes swap Eco Fashion Festival returns for another year to help you find something new to you and learn some basic mending and upcycling techniques all while preventing clothes from going into landfill. Mending workshops will be taught by Northumbria University Craft Society and members of Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s Young People’s Forum. There will be live music to keep us entertained and a fashion show by  Newcastle University Fashion Society.

How the clothes swap works:

  • Bring up to five clean, freshly washed, pre-loved clothes*, shoes and accessories. Please bring good quality clothes free of faults or that only need minor repairs (e.g. missing button). We accept all shapes and sizes.
    *No underwear/swimwear/sleepwear
  • You’ll receive a token for each item you bring to exchange for something new to you. High end items worth more than £50 will be worth two tokens.
  • We’ll help you put your clothes out on the tables and rails ready for the swap.
  • No clothes to swap? No worries, join us on the day and buy tokens for £3 each to take part.
  • If you’d like to drop off your items ahead of the event, please contact mail@northwt.org.uk to arrange.

Everyone is welcome. To give us an idea of numbers, please register via Eventbrite. Feel free to bring friends and family on the day.
