Support from players of People’s Postcode Lottery is helping to keep a group of wildlife volunteers socially connected during the current coronavirus lockdown.

The Wildlife Trusts’ annual 30 Days Wild challenge in June is all set to launch on Thursday 16th April and, despite the lockdown, organisers hope it will be the best one yet.

The last piece of conservation work undertaken by Northumberland Wildlife Trust before travel restrictions were put in place was at its Juliet’s Wood reserve, 1km north of Slaley Village.

Volunteers from the ‘Coast Care’ initiative have just completed one of the initiative’s biggest projects - clearing a section of ivy Hedera helix from the ramparts outside Bamburgh Castle.
